What a beautiful Fall we have had worshipping in our homes and Church building! The Property Team has been able to keep up with the leaf pick-up thanks to the good weather and the help of the many of you at the Congregational Workdays. As we move into 2025, the model for tasks to be completed in our Church and grounds will be shifting. Bryl Short began the Church’s Property group in 1995, shortly after the construction of our current sanctuary (Previously the sanctuary was our current gathering area!) This group gathered weekly to complete various building and grounds tasks and they grew to over 12 members. Dave Mercer took over this leadership in the early 2000’s putting to use his engineering eye and knowledge. We are very grateful to Bryl and more recently Dave for their many hours of ministry leadership, expertise, and hard work.

As we move into 2025, the Thursday Group (Property Team) has now evolved to a team 3-5 individuals. We are grateful to their work ministry; however, it has become tricky for any 3-5 individuals to complete our property and grounds needs. For this reason, the Church Council requested that a Property Task Force Team be formed to develop a more sustainable property team model. Scott Carson, Cristina Dolcino, Jeff Morrison, Russ Hilliard (Council Representative) met as the Property Team Task Force and have consulted with several people.

The task force’s recommendation is to create/recreate our Property Team. The mission of the Property Team will be to monitor all aspects of the church building and grounds to maintain a safe, clean, presentable building and grounds that serve the needs of the congregation.

While the team members may do the work, a key role of the team will be to identify others in the congregation who have the time and talents to assist with projects. If no one is available in the congregation or if the work scope is too extensive, the team will evaluate contracting out the work.
