September 23: A Successful "God's Work Our Hands"

The members of the Social Committee would like to extend a heartfelt thanks for everyone who participated in the September 8 activities.  A total of 35 members of our church assisted (5 before and 29 after services) in the assembling and packing of Macaroni & Cheese meals from Project Outreach. A total of 45 full cases plus one partial case were packed. Twenty-two (22) cases, each, were donated to Gather food pantry in Portsmouth and Waysmeet, the inter-faith pantry at UNH in Dover. The last plus the partial case are being kept here at HTELC to be given out by the church office when people come to our church looking for food. Later that same day, a group of 11 members sang at Edgewood Manor. They performed for 30 minutes to an audience of about 20 people and gave out 40 carnations.

The next Social Ministry activities will take place during November.  We will be collecting food for Operation Blessing’s Thanksgiving baskets November 3-17.  When the list of requested items is received, it will me disseminated through The Tidings and the weekly bulletin.  During November, we will also be collecting winter gloves, mittens, hats, scarves and socks for the Mitten Tree.

The Committee is so grateful to everyone for your support!
