The Social Ministry Team contributed to a new ministry in June. We donated $500 to The Cornucopia Food Bank, located in The Waysmeet Center in Durham, NH (15 Mill Road). The Waysmeet Center is part of the United Campus Ministry at UNH. The Cornucopia Food Bank was started in 1995 and provides food to people who live in over 20 communities in the Seacoast area. It is open three days a week. Volunteers go to local grocery stores to collect fresh fruit with minor bruises, food approaching “best by” dates, and cans or boxed with small dents that cannot be sold. In addition, other perishable foods (e.g., milk, cheese) are purchased from donated funds.
As always, the Social Ministry Team strives to support the ministries of local organizations. As we have done in past years, our participation in God’s Work, Our Hands is fast approaching on Sunday, September 8th! Several opportunities will be offered for you to serve others at Holy Trinity as well as out in our Community. Please “save the date” of Sunday, September 8th, as well as another possible service activity on Sunday, September 29th. Holy Trinity does wonderful things when we use Our Hands to do God’s Work!
