Our Pastoral Candidate has accepted a position at Holy Trinity as our new Pastor, beginning February 2018.

November 27, 2017

Dear Holy Trinity Family,

It is with great joy that I announce that our pastoral candidate has accepted the position.

He will be starting with us in early February. Until December 11th please do not share the candidate’s name. It is then that he will be telling his present congregation and we want to respect his request. The Lutheran world is small and we do have many members from the mid-west who may know someone from his congregation.

The synod recommends that interim pastors leave 2 weeks before new pastors arrive. In keeping with this recommendation, council has set the following schedule. Pastor Grace’s last day will be January 7th and Pastor George’s last day will be January 14th. On January 21st we will have our annual congregational meeting. Pastor Tim Roser from the synod will be with us that day to preside over both church services and the meeting. We will have a guest pastor on January 28th.

Once again I would like to thank you everyone for all the work that has gone into this transition period. A special thanks to the transition team, the call committee and the council. An even bigger thanks to the congregation for all the prayers and support during this time. Last weekend when we welcomed the candidate you all helped so much to make him feel welcome. The reception afterwards was wonderful, thanks to all brought food and those who helped out.

We are all extremely excited about this new chapter in the story of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. You could feel the excitement last weekend. Let’s keep the excitement going and welcome the Pastor and his family into our church family. Please continue to keep Holy Trinity in your prayers as we begin this new journey with a new pastor, as well as the congregation that is now ending their journey with him.

May you all have a Wonderful Christmas Season.

Blessings,

Martha Belanger

Council President
